Scholarships Available
The Credit Union has multiple scholarship opportunities available for those attending college for the 2012-2013 school year. Eligible students are highly encouraged to participate in the programs listed below.
***Please note the due dates of EACH scholarship and application requirements!***
Due February 3, 2012
1). There are two scholarship programs available this year through the statewide Family Involvement Board (FIB) Scholarship (available only to members with accounts at Iowa credit unions). One program (four separate scholarships) is for high school students classified as senior’s with a projected graduation date of 2012, and, the second program (two separate scholarships) is open to students entering or attending an accredited undergraduate, graduate or vocational program. A total of $5,750 will be awarded.
Applicants must complete an entry form and write an essay that is no more than 500 words on the following topic: Unfortunately, many Americans try to avoid money matters altogether and deal with problems as they arise. However, even with some knowledge about managing finances, you can maintain a healthy financial life. How are you educating yourself on personal finance and money management issues? Please include how you can utilize your credit union’s financial education expertise.

Due March 10, 2012 -- DEADLINE EXTENDED
2) ACU Essay Scholarship – Once you have done the work for the FIB scholarship (above), submit a copy of your essay to ACU, and it will be entered for one of two ACU $500 scholarships. If you missed FIB’s entry deadline, you can still write the essay and send it to ACU by March 1st for entry into our $500 scholarship.

3) ACU 2011-2012 Student Scholarship Drawing – Three $500 scholarships will be drawn from newsletter entry forms and our online scholarship entry forms (only one entry per student). Students can submit a form online here.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the ACU scholarships, you must be a member of ACU, a full-time student and an undergraduate of an accredited college, university or vocational school for the 2012-2013 school year. All ACU Essay Scholarships and Student Scholarship Drawings must be received in one of our credit union offices no later than March 10, 2012.
